The JBL Synthesis SCL 9XL two and a half way surface mount loudspeaker provides a high output audio option for installations where cutting into the drywall for an in wall fitting is not possible. Built with a low profile sealed enclosure, this loudspeaker maintains a discreet physical profile on the wall. The hardware engineering relies on a molded baffle paired with an integrated aluminum enclosure and an isolation mounting system to prevent mechanical vibrations from coloring the sound.
The high frequency section uses a patented 2410H 2 one inch compression driver mated to a symmetrical High Definition Imaging horn geometry. This driver setup delivers controlled coverage patterns whether the cabinet is positioned vertically or horizontally. Handling the midbass and lower frequencies are quadruple five and a quarter inch cast frame woofers built with Advanced Aluminum Matrix cones. These four woofers are managed by a two and a half way crossover network assembled with premium components.
Because the physical enclosure design is perfectly symmetrical, it offers excellent placement flexibility during a premium sound system setup or smart home integration. The speaker functions flawlessly as an on wall left, center, or right channel, or as a high performance side or rear surround channel. External amplifier wiring connects directly to gold plated, spring loaded binding post input terminals. To complete the clean on wall installation, a magnetically attachable cloth grille covers the entire front baffle to keep the hardware hidden from view.
